Is a cloak of the archmage machine safe?

I've heard stories of cloaks of resistance getting screwed in the rinse cycle, and even rogues vests being shrunk...what's your favorite washing/drying myth of magic clothing?

I'm pretty sure cantrip/prestidigitation can be used to clean garments up, so wizards don't need to rely on washing machines.

Yeah well, if the world was ALL about Wizards, then sure. But this is a new ERA. I recieve more GAIN from washing things the old fashioned way, rather than just using magic to WISK the dirt away. Besides, I feel that non-magical cleaning leaves my clothes much softer and DOWNY.
