Is a Wizard a better buffer then a cleric?

(Not to say Druids don't get some powerful boosts too -- Let's put it this way: When a druid hits 9th level, the clerics and monks are lining up around the block to take numbers for Owl's insight, the hands-down most powerful Wisdom boost in the game...)
True.

Then again, Clerics can wait until 17th level, then cast Miracle and get Owl's Insight....which allows them to memorize more Miracles, frex.

Wizards have significantly less spells/dayn a cleric. In most sitations, I see the wiz's slots being put to use for better things. Many wizards also won't have some of the more situational buffs in their spellbook due to cost.

Good wizards have more scrolls than a cleric has spells.

One point I didn’t make clear is a buff that takes up a round in combat in my opinion is worth less then a buff that lasts for hours. Sure you can add haste to the list but casting that haste either costs you a 7th level spell quickened or a standard action. The benefit to the party of boosting a wizard’s attack bonus is less then boosting a power attacking fighters.

Depends. Example: A haste spell is the best boost a group of archers can get (assuming they don't have speed items/weapons).

And even better clerics just get help scribing from the wizard.
Very true.

Having the Wizard lend his time, OTOH - so the cleric can scribe scrolls - might be a limitation. :)

Unless you have a RBDM who won't allow wizards to scribe divine spells.

He won't even allow the druid and cleric to collaborate on druid scrolls.

A multiclassed wizard can certainly scribe divine spells. After all, the rules are pretty lenient on this subject: "The creator must have prepared the spell to be scribed..."

Who is this "He" of whom you write? Any druid with Scribe Scroll should have no problem scribing a spell. Any druid without Scribe Scroll clearly has better things to do.
