D&D (2024) Is anyone at WOTC paying attention to what they print any more?

Fore refence, here's the 2014 version of it's actions:

Multiattack. The carrion crawler makes two attacks: one with its tentacles and one with its bite.

Tentacles. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) poison damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. Until this poison ends, the target is paralyzed. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the poison on itself on a success.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) piercing damage.

With the Purple Dragon UA, Viscous weapon changes, the Sword and Board dual wielder, and the latest Carrion Crawler I am wondering if anyone in game design is actually paying attention. Note undelined below.
What's wrong with the first two?

The 2014 beholder had a similar issue with its Petrification Ray requiring multiple Dex saves to avoid turning to stone.

I see they’ve changed this to a Con save for the 2024 beholder.

Specific overrules general, always.
Yeah, but you need specific wording to do the overruling. There's nothing here that makes the general rule invalid except that it doesn't make sense.

It's pretty clear what has happened. The 2025 MM has been changed so every attack only has one roll (save or attack) to see if it succeeds.

So, does the carrion crawler get an attack (with auto paralysis) or a saving throw to avoid? Because paralysis is a save ends effect, you can't do an attack (since you'd then need extra text for the save ends bit). So, it must be a saving trhow.

Which saving throw? Well, you're trying to avoid the tentacles, so it becomes a Dex save to avoid.

And then they just have (save ends) at the end. Done. Move on.

Oops.
