Is Bardic Knowledge = to a feat ?

Isn't that the name of the Tomb Raider chick?

It's Lara Croft. Considering that I'm positive that anyone who knows her name has read it at least ten times as often as heard it, I don't see how anyone could spell it wrong like that. It's just as bad as when people misspell characters' names from Webcomics (such as Xykon, from Order of the Stick, being called Xycon)- your ONLY experience with the character is reading their name. Why in the world would you spell it wrong?

You make an excellent point, Ultema Gaibe.

You don't talk about them out loud?

Also, sometimes I close my eyes and let the voices in my head read me the Internet... :uhoh:

Jack of All Trades lets you get somewhere close to an Indiana Jonesey random hope of knowing things.

If that's not good enough, maybe you can adapt Ancestral Knowledge from Races of Stone (or play a dwarf.)

In general, its a bad idea to take class features and turn them into feats, particularly when the class still exists in the campaign.

Is the Bardic Knowledge ability about equal to a feat?

I would NOT allow a Bard to trade his Bardic Knowledge class feature for a bonus feat.

I would allow anyone else to trade a general feat for Bardic Knowledge, particularly if they had the Educated feat as a pre-requisite.

IMHO Bardic Knowledge is weak.

I laughed when I read this, because I think bardic knowledge is utterly essential and useful. Then again, I like games where information flow is more valuable than lootz0r, so my opinion is probably slightly skewed.

It's a class ability that is entirely dependent on the DM's forethought. In some games it will be valuable; in others, it will not. Clearly our games differ. :)

If the DM wants to play a game where it's valuable, though, he'll find a way to make that kind of information available.

So IMHO it's nice enough to be a feat (since the PC who takes the feat will get that extra bit of spotlight time), but it's not strong in and of itself.

I disagree. I've seen the movie, but never played the games or read anything based on it. In the movie, they say her name out loud, they don't write it down for you.

Do you mean the movie called Lara Croft: Tomb Raider?
