D&D General Is Bezos a huge D&D fan?

First, sorry for the click bait, but I didn't know who else to ask. I heard a story this weekend that suggested Jeff Bezos (founder and CEO of Amazon) is a really big D&D fan / player and wondered if anyone else had heard this before. Just wondering if this is generally known or not. Again, sorry for the click bait.

The Dungeon in the Basement
My son is in his first year at university and one of his dorm friends is a friend of Bezos' son Preston (close enough to have flown on their jet and been to their house). According to my son, Bezos has a "dungeon" in their house with the sole purpose of playing Dungeons and Dragons. I just thought it was kinda cool and wondered if this was an established thing I was clueless about it or if got a little inside info from my son ;)

I haven't heard that. Several other less prominent tech CEOs are I believe but they're all younger (30s and 40s). Bezos is 56 and thus of the age where being a D&D/RPG fan still is a little less common than it is with people around 40.

It's entirely possible of course. That said last I heard Bezos had an entirely different kind of "dungeon" but that's not a fit discussion for this site.

My ability to care about what Bezos likes is proportionate to the amount of his wealth that he actually bothers paying in taxes.
Query, I have heard tell Amazon pays next to nothing in taxes, but I am not familiar with his personal tax contribution.

I would not be surprised if he is a fan.

Amazon was originally a booksite, and many of those that were really really big into books were Fantasy Fans and Sci Fi novel fans...were also RPG fans (not necessarily D&D).

Considering the placement of D&D on his site...bolsters my thoughts...

But...really, I don't know, just wouldn't be surprised.

Though, if he has a basement/dungeon for D&D I would expect that it may be more than just D&D but multipurpose for many forms of entertainment...sort of like a large mancave.

For example, I have the mancave with probably close to 700 boardgames, D&D games, and TV/Video games.

I also have my own library (different area of the house) which also has a lot of RPG books along with other books and novels (I think it's getting close to 5000 books on the shelves and possibly 2000-5000 in storage at this point).

So it could also be that he has one area of the house devoted to D&D or more, and another to other hobbies.
