Is calm emotions really powerful?

Is it just me, or is calm emotions a really poweful 2nd level spell? The text suggests that you could use it to end any fight:

This spell calms agitated creatures. You have no control over the affected creatures, but calm emotions can stop raging creatures from fighting or joyous ones from reveling. Creatures so affected cannot take violent actions (although they can defend themselves) or do anything destructive. Any aggressive action against or damage dealt to a calmed creature immediately breaks the spell on all calmed creatures.

With a bunch of these, could you just waltz through any dungeon, calming every monster? Calm the BBEG and march off with his treasure? What am I missing here?

Wouldn't you consider breaking & entering an agressive action? Or looting? Stealing?

Also, this tactic won't work on certain bad guys immune to mind-affecting effects, and they can still save or use SR.

There's also the Concentration requires and the VERY short duration.

It's a must have when you have a berzerker (PrC) barbarian in the party, *that's* for darn sure.
