Is D&D 3.5 your first role playing game

Just a quick poll to see if people came through D&D from older editions, different games or if it's their first time.

I started in 1ed AD&D but skipped 2ed.

I am in an odd position for this poll. I do not play D&D 3.5. I play D&D 3.0, I've played AD&D 1st and 2nd editions, I still play OD&D, and I got my start in RPGs from Traveller back in 1979. So, I put myself as something else and decided to explain.

The first D&D I actually played was 3.0, but I had a decent grip on the 2e rules before that (since I had the Monstrous Manual and played a lot of Icewind Dale).

I played both Basic and 1e, though almost exclusively 1e- my Basic days were very few.

Then years of 2e.

Then 3.0, and now 3.5.

Specifically 3.5? Cause I started kinda late into 3.0. In fact, I started with 3.0 about a month before 3.5 game out.

You missed an option in the poll -- I have played prior editions of D&D, but I've played other RPGs more (much more) than I have played previous editions.

OD&D --> blue-box D&D --> 1e AD&D ---- long break from gaming... ----> 3.0 D&D --> 3.5 D&D --> Castles and Crusades!

i played Chainmail before ever playing D&D.

Only barely played a previous edition. Played 3.0, starting with Sunless Citadel, about a year or so before 3.5.
