I played one session of Gamma World before I got the Red Box.
I played a mishmash of the box sets and AD&D until 3E came out.
Never played 2E.

Why did you decide to distinguish 3.5 from 3.0 in this poll? I'm curious.

Because if you were a brand new player and started playing today, you'd be playing 3.5, not 3.0.

Might be minor, but when 3.0 was first released, the books were $19.95 and there seemed to be some huge promotions behind it but at the same time, the 3.5 books benefit from the 30th year anniversary bit, worldwide game day, and of course the top selling D&D miniature secondary market for RPGs.

I played 1e and 2e, took a long break from D&D, played some Champions and other stuff, and came back to D&D with 3.0.

I never played OD&D until diaglo's game started last year.

Basic, 1e, skipped 2e, now 3.0/3.5E .. came back to the game in Dec 2000 after seeing an ad for 3rd Edition D&D in my Baldur's gate computer game box, and finding a site dedicated to it hosted by this dude named Eric Noah.

Came in with the start of 3.0, inspired by the Baldur's Gate games. I put that down as "played previous editions', just in case anybody's wondering.
