Is D&D 3.5 your first role playing game

I've played every version of D&D/AD&D since the red box (and I think one prior, but I didn't own the manuals).

In general, I disliked both some of the system elements of 2E and the attitude of the TSR company at the time, though. I played Hero, Shadowrun, and WoD for a while.

I started out with AD&D. No tanar'ri or baatezu for us. We had demons and devils, and we liked it.

Started with D&D 3e, back near the tail end of 2000 or the start of 2001.

But of course I've since gone back and found the absolute wealth of 2e material, and I'm sorry but the fluff/flavor material from 2e puts both 1e and 3.x to absolute shame by comparison.
