Is it just me, or are the Olsen twins starting to resemble liches?

Nope, doesn't look like liches to me.

But the idea of the party bursting into the inner sanctum of a young lich, only to find out they're facing twins is going into the Rat-basterd-folder.

Not to sound like a dirty old man, but yeah, too much eyeliner is very unattractive for them. Kinda like with Pamela Anderson (prefers her in her first original Playboy spread and video, not like she is now).

Then again, they just became adults so they want to express on their own, not someone telling them how they should look and act in public. Kinda like Christina Aguilera, who went through a frightening phase (from bubble-gum "Genie in a Bottle" to trampy "Mama Marmalade").

The same could be said of Calista Flockhart and Lara Flynn Boyle.

But if you ask me -- albeit a dirty old man -- I like a little more meat on my women. The "anorexia chic" appeal is filthy and disgusting.

In 100% agreement. But one has to remember were that look comes from, ie the 'supermodel' world, where it is easier to make clothes that look good if the models are walking racks, or wrecks even. This has an unfortunate snowballing effect of making women trying to fit into their selfimposed ideal of the the super slim look being sexy.

And who do they blame? Us naturally. *sigh*

Eh, not always Aggemam. Us girls who still have a brain in our heads (due to the fact that we still put food in our mouths,) know where the blame goes. And it's not on the average male. I don't know how that look ever got started. NO ONE looks good with their bones sticking out.

I do know how it started but I think that would be too controversial to write here. Maybe on Random's if it comes up.

The Olsen Twins are very popular here in North America. The started out when they were somewhere around 2 or 3 on a popular TV show called Full House, which stayed on for about 7 years. While doing that show, they also started doing a series of direct to video films and specials that were some of the best selling video tapes of all time. Their agent was smart enough to get them signed on as co-producers of the tapes and because of this the girls now have gobs of money. At the age of 17 they are almost billionaires.
The girls also run their own empire, consisting of movies, clothing, perfume and the like. They are supposed to be incredibly smart business people (though one could argue that, given their latest movie "New York Minute" flopped big time).
Erm, while it's entirely possible they're intelligent, what all of that above says to me is that their agent and their parents are incredibly talented business people, not the girls themselves. Oh, and the designers are smart for recognizing that they would become a cultural icon... yet another thing dredged up from the 80s...

I have more to say on the topic of them being "adults" now (as suggested by another poster), but that goes into a bunch of child psychology and personal opinion that I quite frankly I don't feel like typing out unless someone is really interested. Besides which, it could very possibly begin some huge argument, and I don't want to be responsible for that.

Though I have always wanted to start a thread that got shut down... :p

First, I agree, the anorexia thing is horrible.

Second, if you don't mind, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter in PM. While I have my theories I haven't done any research on it at all, so I'm rather interested.
