Is it just me or does Paypal not feel "real"

MEG Hal

First Post
I am the first to admit I spend too much money (be it on myself or the kids) but there are times when I see something on ebay and I think "I HAVE to have it and I will just use paypal" My paypal defaults to my checking account on purpose so I do not go "nuts" but I still tend to get the euphoric/demented feeling that everything will be ok if I use paypal.

Am I alone?

Here is an example of my latest and almost worst paypal overspend, I kept an eye on it till it got over $2000 ( I was not planning on spending that much though). Pic is too big, it was an 8x10 original signed drawing of Calvin & Hobbes by Watterson.

So confess people....

I don't trust Paypal Hal. Never have and probably I never will.

That is fine, I guess it could be for any online purchase that uses a credit card etc... that in person you probably would not do but because it is "one click" away it seems OK.

no no...it's just you
Have you thought of seeing a psychologist?
:)

Most of my D&D expenditures are on the basis that it's on credit, so it's okay. Otherwise I couldn't justify spending $40 on a book.

There are some things I've not gotten because I didn't want to send a MO (too much trouble) and I would have gotten if the seller took Paypal, but that's different.

I will admit to spending a lot over White Wolf and Amazon. But not in the amounts you speak of. (Course if I HAD a job I probably could do that.)

Exactly my point, credit online=makes sense, in person no way...

All in proportion my friend, I would not of gone close to that amount either, but a $40 book to some is a $400 spending spree to others, so you have done it before!

I have never had a problem with PayPal...and yes, Hal, PayPal does help to make E-Bay that more addictive....

But it sure beats driving to a frickin' Mall!

Me too!

My problem is I run a few auctions to make a few bucks and then use the paypal money on other auctions plus some of my own.
