Is it just me, or is there a huge amount of activity on the messageboards now?

At least in Gen Discussion, it seems like there's been a large surge today. I've seen threads go from the top of the page to the 2nd page in less than an hour.

It's good, of course, but hard to keep up sometimes

As of this minute (2:45pm E.S.T.) there are just over 250 people on right now. Sometimes it's fun to just watch the "who's online and see what people are doing (even if I feel like a peeping Tom.)

some of us are just bored at work. we are busy reading and answering all the threads to keep our hands and minds from wandering.

It's probably a combination of the weather, and work-related downtime. Most offices tend to get really slow this time of year. And much of the midwest is packed in ice and snow today from a horrific blizzard that went through last night.

I dunno, not that long ago, that seemed pretty normal. I'd say rather that the last few months seem to have been unusual slow.
