Is it moderation if the red text isn't being used?

So over on the "Unearthed Arcana: Gothic Lineages & New Race/Culture Distinction" thread, one poster responded to a post @Morrus made, getting hit with a subsequent ban from the thread for "challenging moderation." However, the post of Morrus's that they were responding to didn't have the red text broken out, and gave no indication that it was moderation in action.

So is any post that the moderators make here considered to be moderation, red text or no? Because without that particular use of coloration, this seems like "challenging moderation" can conceivably be any direct response that the mods don't like.

The comment was about moderation. The fact that it happened to be indirectly referencing me is irrelevant. If you want to make comments about moderation (even in response to a non-moderation comment or a comment by a non-moderator) you don’t derail threads with it. Especially when it’s because I was being nice and not warning somebody.
