Is Kenzer In Trouble?

HackMaster is fantastic. Fun yet very playable. It doesn't take itself or gaming and gamers in general very seriously, which is a good thing; this is a game we're talking about here, after all. That's not to say the game is a "joke" game, not at all. What it does is remind those who read it that it's about having fun.

Knights of the Dinner Table is a great comic/magazine. It's the only comic I buy regularly.

Kalamar isn't my cup of tea, really, but it's generally well-made product.

I'm not seeing the crap here.

Man, I go away for a few days and look what happens. Anarchy! ;)

Seriously though... Nope, Kenzer and Company is in no danger of going anywhere. We have slowed up a little lately, mostly because of the contractor/building problems trying to get into our new office, but it's not a sign of any portent.

Aside from the monthly Knights of the Dinner Table magazine, we've got several collections of the same, and multiple HackMaster and Kingdoms of Kalamar products coming out in the next few months. PLUS the new Tech Support card game, the Great Space Race boardgame, and the Aces & Eights roleplaying game, which will bring a whole new depth to the western. So no worries!

And thanks for the personal props, guys! :D

I own a lot of Kenzer product. Mostly Kalamar, but some Hackmaster as well. I don't use it, but I am glad I own it, simply because it is good and I know I will one day want to use it. KotDT is an excellent comic/fanzine. I am sorry I ignored its existance for so many years.

The Kalamar Atlas is an awesome piece of work. I wish everyone's setting would get the same kind of treatment!

I go visit a graduate school for just 2 nights (ok, and I was sick before then, so I've been gone most of a week) ... and there's a whole thread about the kenzer boys?

They r0xors. Hackmaster r0xors. Kalamar r0xors. The HMPA r0xors. I'm a level-2 Hackmaster Player. What was probably my best DnD game as a player was in Kalamar. And now I'm a member of the butt-kickingest group in the HMA, the Hack Dragon Horde.

Recognize, Kenzer & Co is teh 1331.

Sorry, havn't slept for 3 days.

The Hackmaster line is great. I love the parody element of it and rather than the moduals being knocks against the original, I see it as a form of respect. Parody is the most sincere form of flattery.

Whew!

Mark, glad to hear it! I was getting a bit worried, but I'm glad you popped in to clear things up. I am really looking forward to Aces & Eights. Will it be at Gen Con?

That's the plan! :) We were hoping for an Origins release, but it looks like it might not ship in time. The leatherbound cover and all the extras take extra work.
