Scott Rouse is the Alan Smithee of the RPG world. Clearly, Monte Cook was originally one of the major designers of 4e, but he hated what Wizards was doing with it so much that he asked his name to be taken off it, and "Scott Rouse" was born.

;)

Man... beforwe I went to film school and found out what Alan Smithee was used for... I just thought Alan Smithee made a ton of crappy movies...

Back on subject...

Notice he's not around to defend hismelf???

I'm on to this Rouse Conspiracy!!!

Scott Rouse is an anagram of "Ruse to cost!" and "Cost to user!".

Coincidence? You decide! :p

Actually another anagram of his name is a major clue about 4e: "Cures So Out" There will be no magical healing spells in 4e.

I hope Scott doesn't take offense. He has been prety willing to converse with us here and we have not always been a gentle crowd. Plus, it is like an addiction; I can't help it.

Rouse had grown so rich, he wanted to retire. He took me to his cabin and he told me his secret. 'I am not the Scott Rouse", he said. 'My name is Ryan; I inherited WotC from the previous Scott Rouse, just as you will inherit it from me. The man I inherited it from is not the real Scott Rouse either. His name was Cummerbund. The real Rouse has been retired 15 years and living like a king in Patagonia.'

"I loved once," Buttercup said after a moment. "It worked out badly."
"3rd edition? And it was flawed and became 3.5."
"No. It was 3e and it was wonderful."
"Were you sorry? Did you feel pain? Admit that you felt nothing -"
"Do not mock my grief! I died that day."
While he was watching the ships, Buttercup shoved him with all her strength remaining...down went the man called Rouse..."You can die too for all I care," she said, and then she turned away.
Words followed her. Whispered from afar, weak and warm and familiar. "4s...you...wish..."

"Hello, you kiled my Edition prepare to die." ? Too far I think. How about

"He's a good looking kid, has a way with women. He dresses like a dandy and he's a left-hander. People say he's fond of whistling sad ballads."
