I think spellcasting in the magic heavy typical D&D is no big matter... if you look at the puny ranger spells.

I see the problem with TWF as one of the major flaws with the combat system: TWF twinks are supposed to be mobile and lightly armoured... something the combat system doesn't support as all. Best two-weapon fighters are heavily armoured and rooted in front of the spellcasters, the mobile dudes wield greatswords and tumble/spring attack into flanking position for sneak attacks :D

So yes, I like the ranger as it is (with a little bit more choice for the feats, perhaps?)

Will saves won't do you any good in the wilderness, though. If you want a high willpower, just increase your wis score (and get survival ranks). In the wilderness you need fort to overcome poisons and deceases, and ref to avoid all kinds of trapfalls.
