Is the Dnd Insider website meant to be separate to the Wotc site?

As the title states: will www.dndinsider.com eventually be a separate site to the wizards site? or is it meant to be content that will continually be found on the wizards site?

What I want to know is, besides joining the RPGA and signing up for Gleemax/DDI, what do you have to do to be considered for playtesting? I know they said it would be a few weeks after Gencon before they'd sift through people, but how are they going to determine if my old board login from years ago should be considered, my preference, versus a bogus or new account created for Gleemax/DDI/to get free swag at Gencon?
