I've read (but not played) it. It's a single-player module, so factor that in. I think it would be fun to play, especially if you and your player are fond of Conan style stories. It felt really old-school in a good way. It's self-contained, so don't go looking for lots of hooks and such, but if you're looking for something to run when the regular group can't make it, I'd give it a look. It would definitely help if you and your player(s) don't take things too seriously. It's not 'Hackmaster', but it's not ultra-serious, either.

It makes for a good read, even if you don't run it. You don't have tp watch Fear of Girls to enjoy it but that will certainly help you understand some of the throwaway references. Definitely worth the price of admission.

i nominated last year for an ENnie. yeah, it stands on its own merits.
i currently have it slated for use in my OD&D(1974) campaign. but the PCs haven't got to the hooks yet.
