I wonder whether the lack of weapon restrictions is a typo, or an actual change? Hopefully the latter... It kind of makes we want to play a Druid, now.

It'll be Simple Weapon Proficiancies regardless. That won't be too much of a hit. While it detracts from flavor, I don't mind. Sometimes it just got in the way. It won't be too much of an attack anyway.

The animal companion rules are the single best addition to the druid IMO. I really don't like the idea of druids swapping out animal companions all the time for more powerful versions, so IMC I treat the animal companion a lot like a familiar for a wizard.

Although I have to admit that I will still house rule druid weapons. It never made sense to my why they got scimitar, but not access to all spears, bows, or axes.

They have a subset of Simple weapons still, and even without taking the Simple or Martial Weapons Proficiency, they can use racial proficienices without penalty. I see even more Elven Druids in my future. :)

If you mean Racial weapons as in Familiarity (Gnome=Hooked Hammer), then no. It makes them Martial. If you mean Longsword (via Elf) type stuff then yes.

Hmm... I wonder if this poll reflects Kai Lord's personal bias? :D

I do like this drud though. Especially the familiar-style animal companion (Want a stronger animal? Than you get less special perks. Have a nice day)

Demiurge out.

Yeah, since I said Elven Druids, I was talking about those types.

Looking again, I see what you meant. The Elven Druid line can mean two different things. Seems I took the wrong one. Sorry about that.

I wouldn't say it is the best, but it is much improved.

But I do wonder: What if a shapeshifter like a doppelganger wishes to be a druid? Will Wild Shape be a useless ability for such a creature?
