Is the Slayer PrC overpowered?

I read a few time in this forum and another that the Slayer PrC class from the SRD is overpowered. Why is this? And why is this one overpowered but the Illthid Slayer from the XPH is not?

Perhaps it's the Mind Flayer lobby trying to keep DMs from allowing it.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Isn't the Slayer SRD PrC supposed to be the sanitized version of the XPH Illithid Slayer (since "Illithid" is not OGL?)

I have a hard time believing that unless you'd care to offer examples and your rationale. The original poster asked why. A blanket opinion without corroboration doesn't exactly convince me.

The SRD Slayer PrC has very easy requisites, and only loses 1 manifester level, in exchange for full BAB, 1d8 hit points and proficiency and martial weapons and all armor.(plus the special abilities, but IMo they are minor in comparison), turning it into a very very efective gish (sp?) build. Since the benefit is much greater than the cost, it´s overpowered.

Looks fine to me. They will have nice psionic abilities only missing out on one level of it, the class powers are not that impressive except maybe the passive ones.
