D&D 5E Is the two-weapon barbarian no longer a competitive class build?

I don't get the notion of competitive class build ... if it's fun what is the problem?

Is this organized play pushing this notion? or is it just internet optimization boards?

or are we now in the age of only the most optimized is the only thing worth doing?

I understand that in MMOs and MOBAs this is pretty much slammed in your face if you do something outsie the optimized norms, but those games dont have roleplaying and player ingenuity that can change the outcome of events.

Unless something has changed since the last playtest packet, dual-weapon barbarian is awesome.

It's because rage damage applies to all melee attacks -- there's no "once per round" restriction listed (as of the last public playest). So getting that bonus attack from TWF effectively doubles your bonus damage.
