Is there a feat that lets a casting class use str instead of int/wis/chr?

I thought I read a feat somewhere that lets you use your str instead of int/wis/chr for a casting class, or something like that. Does that really exist? if so, where did I read it?

Thank you all in advance!

umm... in general, no.

however, there are some ways to expand the use of strength.

firstly, there's brutal throw, which allows you to use your strength instead of dex for attack with throw weapons (but not launchers, such as bows, or ranged touch attacks). the feat can be found in Complete Adventurer.

secondly, there's the Illumian race, in Races of Destiny. an Illumian of 2nd level or higher with the Aesh and Krau runes can use his strength modifier to determine bonus spells for all his spellcasting classes, instead of whatever (int, wis, or cha). he still uses the normal score to calculate the DC, however.

ahh, races of destiny. A feat was just my best guess as to what it was, but now I know what I was reading.

Thanks for the help.

I think there was a feat that let you use strength instead of your normal key ability score for all aspects of spellcasting, it was in the Complete Munchkin book :p :)

There were feats in the 3.0 Green Ronin book Hammer & Helm, a guidebook for dwarves, that allowed a sorceror to shift his spellcasting ability from Charisma to something else. The flavor was that the dwarf had an elemental tie into his acenstry rather than dragon blood as the spark for magical ability.

I know that Stoneborn Sorcery shifted the spellcasting ability to Con. I think Flameborn Sorcery was Dex. There were also Seaborn and Skyborn Sorcery feats. I have a dwarven monk/sorceror who took the Stoneborn Sorcery feat.

Probably the biggest problem with this is that Polymorph can get you some pretty phenomenal physical stats (as can other effects such as the Strength domain ability). Plus, there are many types of stacking Str bonus (most common would be size, morale, enhancement, and inherent)
There really aren't the same super-boosting options for mental stats, and size and morale don't apply.

Umm....Meatheaded...from umm....Shadowdweller productions, yeah.

Meatheaded:
Prerequisite: Str 13; Int less than 10; No ranks in either Spellcraft or Knowledge: Arcana
Benefit: The subject can use his Strength in place of a spellcasting stat provided he is able to succeed at an opposed Intimidate or Bluff check versus the Sense Motive of everyone within 100 feet. The opposing Sense Motive checks are granted a +10 bonus, and are further increased by every rank the opponent has in Spellcraft or Knowledge: Arcana.

3.0 psionics allowed a psion to use any stat as the key stat for manifesting powers.

Not exactly. A psion needed ALL stats high to get powers. You dont pick one. the different types of psionic abilites were each tied to a different stat (telepathy was charisma, while teleportation was dex). If you were doing a charm type effect, you used your charisma modifier. if you were trying to use bio-feedback, it was strength(i believe).
