Is there a limit on the "regain hit point like rest for one day" effect of wildshape ability?

I don't know if it has been asked before. But I can't found it anywhere, please also point out where can I found the official rule.

As I read the ability, you heal once each time you use it. This means that the limit is the number of times you can wild shape.

I found the following at http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/srd/srdbasiccharacterclassesi.html

Wild Shape: At 5th level, a druid gains the spell-like ability to polymorph self into a Small or Medium-size animal (but not a dire animal) and back again once per day. Unlike the standard use of the spell, however, the druid may only adopt one form. As stated in the spell description, the druid regains hit points as if he or she has rested for a day. The druid does not risk the standard penalty for being disoriented while in the wild shape.

Thanks for the reply! But there should be a major loophole here since the Shifter PrClass (MotW) got unlimited no. of whildshape ability at 10th level. May be an errata will be coming.

The's a Sage Respond somewhere that ansered this. He said it could be done at a maximium of 7/day. It was asked becasue of the Shifter 10th level ability to chnage shape an unlimited number of times per day.

Thanks! (Though a bit disappointed since I'm going to play a Shifter :p ). I think your source come from Dragon #298 (haven't got my copy yet.

Even if the healing is limited to a certain number of changes per day, it really doesn't matter (if the shifter has access to a form that allows Fast Healing).

By 10th level in Shifter they should have access and could into something with Fast Healing, heal up and then change into whatever else they wanted to.

Exactly, which is why the errata that limits the number of times a day is just plain silly.

Not true. Not all shifters take a race with fast healing. Actually, fast healing is very rare an ability. People have to go looking in the non core books to find something they qualify for with it.

I think the reason they made the limit is for the animal lord.

Ah... didn't think about the Animal Lord. Good catch Orco.

Actually as a 10th level Shifter (which is where you gain the ability to shift an unlimited number of times per day) there are very few things you CAN NOT shift into. However, as Orco mentioned, Animal Lord gets the ability to shift a unlimited number of times per day at a much lower level and into a very limited number of forms... thus I can see why they made the ruling.
