Is there a way to not lose access to your magic items while wildshaped?

The simplest solution is just to take off all your gear, wild shape, and then put it back on again (possibly with help, depending on the form). Most forms can wear rings and an amulet, probably a belt, maybe more... it will depend on the DM. This doesn't work so well in the middle of combat, but it works just fine if you plan to constantly adventure in your wild shape.

The simplest soluton is often the best solution. At level 6 with natural spell you get 6 hours of adventuring with all your stat boosters working this way with only one wildshape use...

During which time you can communicate with your fellow party members in the form of assorted simple gestures and animal noises.

It also restricts the possibility of 'utility' wildshaping in response to specific situations. Basically, you'd better hope you made the right choice at the start of the day.

I feel rather strongly that allowing "everything" to still function while wildshaped is too powerful while allowing "nothing" to still function is way too weak.

There are significant potential downsides to being wildshaped. Adventuring in bear shape all day may make certain combats easier, but it will make some other encounters much more troublesome.
