Is there actually a disarm power?

+1000? Hyperbole or loophole?

Holy crap! You can get +1000 to hyperbole?!?! ;)

Seriously though, yeah, Dragonborns can get really good with Intimidate, especially if you're going with a Pally and jacking up your Charisma. Training, plus Focus, plus Racial comes out to +10, which already equals the Hostile modifier. Any bonus from Cha is just gravy...

I heartily approve of the party containing a Paladin or Warlock who has high Intimidate to allow another way for Bloodied monsters to just go away.

Fights take long enough as is, no reason to take away ways to shorten them in my game.

I even gave the Warlock a +intimidate item.

Definitely hyperbole. But it was high enough that it was pretty much guaranteed to succeed unless there is a fumble.

I am starting to come around to the 'fights last too long' mindset myself, however.

I kinda wish that he wasn't a paladin of Bahamut, cuz a little Blood Meridian-esque intimidate check to coup de gras would be awesome, but totally not possible wrt alignment.
