Fochlucan Lyrist looks pretty simple.
- Fochlucan Lyrist levels stack with Bard levels for all Bardic Knowledge checks.
- Fochlucan Lyrist and Bard levels stack for all Bardic Music effects up to 20th level, and then follow Epic Bard progression thereafter.
- Fochlucan Lyrists gain +1 Bard caster level every odd level and +1 Druid caster level every even level; they do not gain additional spells per day in either class past the equivalent of 20th level.
- Fochlucan Lyrists get a bonus Epic feat every 6 levels after 10th. They may select bonus feats from the Epic Bard and Epic Druid lists. (But they don't qualify for Epic Wild Shape feats unless they gain more Druid levels.)
You may want to reduce their bonus feat progression because, unlike the Mystic Theurge, they're still gaining Bard features.
Once you've met the prerequisites for Fochlucan Lyrist, you
absolutely want to work on Sublime Chord as quickly as possible. One level of Chord, and then back to Lyrist, and you gain Chord spellcasting without losing Bardic Music.
At Epic level, you want to stick to Lyrist at least until you've got Sublime Chord 10 spellcasting or until your Bard + Lyrist level equals 20. Beyond that point, the benefit of sticking to Lyrist becomes debatable compared to alternating between Bard and Druid-- you're weighing a bonus Epic feat every six levels or more against getting higher level Druid class features.
