D&D 5E Is there any way to still get the latest playtest packet for D&D Next?

Is there a way to still the playtest packet from September (I believe that was the last one).

On the DNDClassics web site, the two existing D&D Next products (Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle and Vault of the Dracolich) have just been updated with the addition of a zip file titled Scourge of the Sword Coast Interim Rules Supplement. Presumably that's a file created to go with today's release of Scourge of the Sword Coast.

The zip file contains some, but not all of the files from the playtest packets, and according to the Read Me First file: "This presentation of the D&D Next rules is an interim document intended to serve those playing Scourge of the Sword Coast and Dead in Thay. It presents no addition rules material beyond what previously appeared in the playtest packet on dndnext.com."

So, if you've already purchased either of those PDFs, or if you are willing to pay $4.99 for a copy of Vault of the Dracolich (the cheapest option), you can now buy a copy of most of the last playtest packet.

Well that's encouraging news! So there is hope yet, I just need to find someone to play a game with then.

My question is related to the OP:

I have both the most up-to-date playtest rules and Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle, but this adventure came out using an older playtest. I have no experience doing conversions, but I was thinking of running this game from my son and friends - can I simply use the adventure as is but use the most recent playtest rules... or do I need to do conversions, etc?

You won't need to do conversions for a single adventure. It'll all come out in the wash. Sure there are differences, but nothing that will be a challenge.
