Yeah but the spells DC is based off of Charisma. The PHB mage gets the bonus to DC and bonus spells whereas the elements of magic mage really only gets the bonus spells.

Unless I'm misremembering, which is possible, the DCs are based off the primary stat in Elements of Magic as well.

If HP is really a problem:

Give yourself a shot of Endurance.

1d4+1 con, cast at the start of a battle, can be just as effective as that feat.


Opens the way for SpellCasting prodigy, which'll give you enough bonus spells anyhow.


Later on, get Extend spell, and you're set.


If you're already buffing others and yourself, then this should be no problem.
