Is this new feat balanced?

Actually, it's not a new feat at all.

It already exists, even in 3.0

It is one of the properties of a human.

(human: you get an extra feat at lvl 1)

Some classes give out this feat with restrictions:

Fighter bonus feat, wizard metamagic feats.

Some classes give out this feat with extreme restrictions and/or dispensations:

Monk bonus feats

So, nothing new, just giving something already present in the game a name.

(and yes, taking this feat as one of your standard feats is indeed rather pointless)

You guys are getting it all wrong. Poor misunderstood feat. :( The point of the feat is to allow you to choose another feat. It's brilliant! I mean- what better way to increase your combat prowess than through feats. i mean that is what they are designed for, right? And what better way to get more feats than with a feat? I mean... my God! I need to pitch this to my DM immediately before someone steals this. :p

Okay, look at it from an epic point of view. Fighters get ALOt of feats, most classes get bonus feats anyway, and even if you can kick ass, you get a nat 1 at a finger of death, orb of destruction, or dissintegrate spell, and bitch you're toast.:erm: Really, this feat is kind of useless. You get alot of feats, then what? You take up WAY too much time looking through your feats going, " Okay, the orc just punched me, so what can I do?" And the DM is like, " IDK :):):):) head, why don't you look through your sheets of feats?"
Any DM in their right mind wouldn't allow this feat. Keep trying though!
Hezrog: These are class feats, where as "extra feat" is general, most likely available to anyone.
Stalker: what?
Balgus: again, fail ur fort in finger of death, and idc if you can kill me with a twig that was just burned and then crapped out, ur dead.
You guys with the wish thing: You can only replicate an 8th spell or lower without some major consequence, and even when u do that, there's still a possibility of a bitchy DM, you know?
