Is this overpowered?

I found this weapon property, though I can't remember what book in now. I was wondering if people thought it was balanced:

Enlarged: +1 bonus.

When applied to a one-handed weapon, the weapon is treated like a two-handed weapon for purposes of disarm, sunder, and power attack. In addition, the weapon's damage is increased by one size category. However, weilding an enlarged weapon puts the user off balance, and they suffer a -2 to AC.

So it is a weapon enchantment that gives two-handed properties, but only takes one hand to wield --> you could have a shield too...

im not sure... can't find a way to use it in a bad way, so i guess it looks fine.. btw.. what happens if you apply it to a greatsword etc.?

My guess? 3d6 damage, -2 to user's AC. The 2-handed thing overlaps with the greatsword's same quality, and so would do nothing

...unless it becomes a 3-handed weapon? ;)

Seems strong with the increase in weapon damage and such. As for the great sw3ord, it says can only be used on a one handed weapon so can't place it on a great sword I imagine.

If we start with a one handed, d8 weapon like a long sword what does it gain?

If we had used a normal +1 instead of this the weapon would have +1 to attack and +1 to damage along with some other benefits.

Instead the weapon goes to 2d6 damage, +4 (as though a two handed weapon) for disarm and sunder, plus you get 2 for 1 power attack bonus instead of 1 for 1. You also get a -2 penalty to AC.

Comparing the two get, relative to the +1, -1 to attack attack rolls, -1 damage, +damage from the dice change, +3 to disarm and sunder (does not stack with using the weapon two handed), extra power attack bonus, and -2 AC.

I kindof like it actually. That penalty to AC hurts a lot. I am not sure what sort of character would want it though. If I was going for sword and shield I probably would not want to take the hit to armor class unless I was really worried about being sundered or disarmed. If I was going for two weapon fighting my AC is likely already not great and I would probably want this on both weapons, ever seen a two weapon fighter with a 12 AC?

So, who is this weapon enhancement for? Who would benefit the most?

It is not overpowered if you allow animated shields. A two handed weapon wielder with an animated shield is nearly identical to a sword-and-boarder with a weapon with this property. Actually the wielder of this weapon is might be slightly underpowered because it costs the +1 enhancement. The animated shield costs +2 AC because it is a +2 equivalent shield enhancement. My guess would be it was priced this way on purpose by looking at the cost of an animated shield.

It seems kind of cheap at a +1 bonus. It seems like the big choice for us fighter-types these days is do we want the sweet x2 Power Attack damage for two-hand weapons, or the extra points of AC the shield provides. If you look at the other things a +1 bonus provides, from a +1 bonus to a +1d6 damage, this enhancement would give you x1.5 STR damage and Power Attack bonuses that quickly get sick.

Oh sorry guys, there was one part of the property I totally forgot about. It also gives the x1.5 for str of a THW. Sorry about that. Also, the property says specifically onehanded weapons, so you can't put it on a GS.
