Is West End Games d6Space any good?

Yes. But, and it's something of a big one, it's awfully sparse. It covers the subject fairly broadly, but very superficially.

There should be a review up at RPG.net, which is pretty accurate.

Basically, it's the same rules (more or less) from d6 Star Wars, plus a fair amount of new stuff, like advantages and disadvantages, cyberware (which are really just a way to gain advantages), a brief chapter on building spaceships.

I'm thinking of getting the d6 fantasy and see how it plays for something a bit different.
Likewise. I'm a bit tired of D&D 3.0 and 3.5. I'm looking for a fantasy alternative and this might be it.

I have and very much enjoyed the Star Wars D6 they put out way back when. If it's anything like as much fun as that, D6 Fantasy will be my game of choice.

I'd warn you away from it, but that's just me. You SHOULD try it out yourself to see if you like it. Some people love it, some people (like me) hate it. D6 that is.

Ugh... dicepools, and Mechanincal as a stat.

Is it SWd6's system? I hated that. I basically dislike buckets of dice, but the main problem is that skills weren't anywhere close to balanced against each other. That's tolerable in d20, where there are other things besides skills. In d6, that breaks the game.
