So, you are PCing in your weekly/monthy game. The DM make a rules ruling that you are not familiar with. Do you challenge the DM or do you trust that he's right?
See, here's where you screwed up with this poll. :(

It should be "The DM makes a ruling that you are quite certain is wrong. Do you mention it?"

I believe that would have been a more illuminating and interesting poll.

The way you have it now, we can only choose between being a disruption about something we don't know about, or being a complete DM-lackey who always believes that the DM is right because of some divine power, or something.

Hate to break it to you guys, but IN REALITY, the DM is not always right.

He is human, and prone to mistakes just like everybody else.
Not because he's malicious or anything, but DMing is a huge responsibility.

If you as a player can point out something that he's interpreting incorrectly, than that it your duty as a player.

If I was DMing, and somebody didn't pipe up when I said something patently WRONG simply because "The DM is always right", I'd want to slap them for their incorrrect and simple-minded application of that phrase.

If a rule dosen't sound right to me I will inevitably argue against it. I will drop it once it has been looked up and a DM has made a ruleing. I just think a game should be played by the rules.

Consistancy is the key

I do agree that the DM has the final say on any queries brought up by the players about rules. It just irks me when he changes them from week to week. It's difficult to get a hold on reality when you aren't sure what rules the DM will decide to use this session.

A player in my group always tries to make sure that we use the correct rule unless I have specifically said I've altered it. This occasionaly gets on my nerves as the game is held up while the correct ruling is checked. It's now at the stage where if questioned I make sure that the players also abide by the correct ruling 100% of the time as occasionally they seem to forget things that may hinder them. This also involves double checking rules I'm unsure of out of game just to make sure things are being done correctly.
