Isn't this illegal?

Heck, that's not even the worst! I heard on another board that almost every d20 product out there can be found on Kazaa for PDF download!

I wish there was a way to stop it. No wonder the price of 3E revised is so high!

Well yes, they can, but that really doesn't have much to do with the price of 3E revised - which isn't any more expensive than the current price for 3E. Really, compared to the price of most books, you're getting a bargain with RPG products.

My solution: The market is too small to fight it- so the customers should ostracize anyone they know who does pirate rpg books. Don't allow them to play at your table and drop them on the ignore list. Stolen books won't do much good to someone who has no one to play with.

As for the books being priced so high- I would disagree. They are pretty cheap, but that is a different issue.

Hardly "every D20 product"... I've checked a few times to see whats out there. Most of the WotC stuff, sure, but beyond that? Not really all that much. A scattering of stuff across the product lines, that's about it. A fair bit of Mongoose, yes... a bit of SS... But basicly nothing from "little companies", including some of my personal favorites, for which I am thankful. At least if they want the good stuff (IMHO) they are forced to buy it. ;)

White wolf, on the other hand, yeah. I've seen just about everything WW puts out for the World of Darkness line on there. Same with GURPS and a couple other lines.

*hugs his legal copies of everything*

You want to know what's REALLY sad about it?

I've seen the downloaded versions of some of the 3E stuff...

The sad part is...

In terms of scan quality, legibility, and so forth...

Most of the pirate PDFs are technicly far superior to the ESDs of old products wizards sells.

I think this thread has outlived its original intent, and with Anthony/WotC/EBay/Et.Al. checking up on the situation, I think it's done.

Thanks for the info and actions from Ghostwind, Scarymonkey and all involved!
