But back on track, my friends. I know the odds seem overwhelmingly bad, but! If we take our time about this and plan it a few years, maybe even more, ahead it might just be possible. Give players time to save up expenses and others time to plan out the details. I don't know, this has just got me all excited and now I really want to see it come to life.

Maybe this thread should be locked, so we can start a new thread that gives votes and our locations only. Easly counted up and another thread can come after that, when someone has gone throug it and got the most convenient location(s) we can use.

We don't have to lock this thread in order to have a location thread. There are plenty of other considerations to discuss besides location.
You've started a location thread, and I see you even updated it with the locations already mentioned in this thread. So, all to the good. We can keep a tally of locations there. And discuss other concerns here.

I'm all for that idea. Maybe not next summer cause...well honestly I got three kids and no job :S so money is tight just on my hubby's paycheck....but the summer after that? I think working out the details and getting a rough idea how much it will generaly cost would be great for people to save up then.

The Magi e-mail is "isrpmagi@gmail.com" and that works for any or all magi, but please don't consider this a magi project. You don't need our approval or permission, and if any of us go, we might not necessarily want to go as magi. Hey, I'm not even worried about the rotten tomato tossing, it's that I'd rather talk to people about my other characters. :-)

The summer break, or around that time would be good, for those people in school, and collage. Though travel expense by plane usually goes up. Atleast that gives enough time for sorting things out. Atleast a year.

Ah, thank you, Trelian. And of course, this is something, we the players, have to work on as a group. And quote from Brutal, about the school and such. Yes, placing it during the summer would be the better idea. But then what about those who work? Like me, I don't get a summer vacation from work. XD But, I do have persoanl/sick and vacation days that I could use if it happens on a weekday by chance. Depending on how long we want it to go on. I would hate to have players fly to the states for a one day get together. Especially how expensive plane tickets are.

Just a thought

Has anyone considered possibly finding out what it would take to tag along with one of the other large conventions? I.E. DragonCon or GenCon? For those that plan on going to one major event a year....it might be pretty groovy to be able to do an ISRP thing at something you were already planning on attending anyway. I just got back from DragonCon 2007 and they had role-playing events although there weren't very many attendees. The point is that the role-playing events had thier own space and times throughout the weekend. They also had a World of Warcraft (I know...soooo very evil) meet and greet as well as other discussions. If we could arrange some sort of ISRP meet and greet at one of the larger conventions...That would be something I would certainly attend.

Good thinking there Haeron. Join in with a bigger meeting of our cousins from other genres. But money and time are the two conflicting areas here.

I agree that this is almost impossible, but it is said that impossible is nothing.
I hope that we can prove that saying.

But of course time is our ally too. A lot more planning needs to be done, but that goes without saying.

The cost definitely needs to be split if at all possible and as evenly as possible.
Maybe those attending can pool money together and help soften the financial blow of anyone who has to fly over here since it seems the majority of us leave here in the States.

No time like the present!
