They have heavily hinted at a 4th Ed OA to follow quite shortly after 4th Ed’s launch.
Hopefully they don't regurgitate AEG's L5R setting, and either brew up their own or revamp Kara-Tur from 1e.

Don't get me wrong, L5R is a great setting and all... but it's a radically different mindset from d20 and where 4e looks to be going.

I've run every edition of D&D with the core rules only and I doubt 4e will make me change my ways. The way of endless splat books lies madness.

I'm pretty sure the splat book is Marital Power. WoTC is taking a diff spin in this addition :D

Actually if SAGE is a precursor to 4e I am definitely excited about some of the splat book. Hopefully WotC realizes that we don't need 100 classes just give us diff options for talents and what not.

As much as I'm looking forward to 4E, Sword and Fist was a painful lesson. I'll let the early adopters sift out the wheat from the chaffe in the books before I touch them.
I'm also going to wait until the first round is complete before buying. It was kind of crappy that some players had to wait longer than others before expanded options were even available. It was completely understandable from a publishing perspective ... but at the table, it made for an unbalanced experience for awhile. Lesson learned.

Luckily I live in my own little world, lol. I don't care what sits in the shelf of my FLGS if it's not on my shelf. I'll be Core only for at least a year, myself.
This applies to me too. The only 3.5 books I own are the three Core and Bo9S.

But I'm really curious about what's in "Martial Power" - none of the most anticipated classes are Martial Classes.

Swordmage -- Arcane
Sorcerer ----- Arcane
Druid -------- Fey (Feral)
Barbarian ---- Feral (Fey)
Monk -------- Ki?
Psionicist ---- Psi
Bard -------- Arcane

Maybe the Monk is Martial after all? But what else can there be in there in the way of Base Classes? I hope it's not all Paragon Paths / Epic Destinies (though some would be nice, obviously).

You thought 4e would be devoid of splatbooks?

Besides, we knew that an Arcane book was slated for late 2008 too, so this is no surprise.

I assume you mean SWSE?

That would be interesting, if the splatbooks (for lack of a better term) only expand existing classes (with Talents, Paths, etc.), while whole new classes (and power sources) are reserved for the sequential PHBs ...
