item creation feats BROKEN

i think the item creation feats in the players sucks
the fact that you have one feat you cant make anything else but that one type sucks
i changed it in my game, very simple,

magic item creation 1,2,3,4,5
magic item 1 any magic item up to 3,000gp
MI 2 up to 10,000gp
MI 3 up to 50,000gp
MI 4 up to 100,000gp
MI 5 up to 200,000gp

plus added to MI 5 item melding where you can take the magic out of one item and add it to another for the standerd cost of the
cheaper item just like if you where to add extra powers but you all ready have the items just melding the two

sorry ment to put this in the house rules:D

Coming in February/March, Mystic Eye Games will be releasing The Artificer's Handbook. In it, we completely redo the magic item creation system, the least of which includes replacing the item creation feats with 4 feats. These feats allow you to create magic items based on the power of the item, not the type. It didn't make any sense to us (the designers) to have one feat to create boots of waterwalking, and a completely separate one to create a ring of waterwalking. It's the same ability, just goes in a different slot.

So, while I think you're replacement feats are better... they still don't fix the core problem.
