If you adhere to the notion that 1 XP = 5 GP, then the formula for converting the entire base price of an item into XP is as follows:
(Base Price) x (.14)
This follows the rule of:
1/2 the item's base price in raw materials
1/25 the item's base price in XP
This is the formula used in GRIM TALES, which converts all magic item creation to XP cost only (but allows for XP cost reductions by spending more time and money).
