Item skill enhancement

What's the highest value competence bonus that can be on a magic item to increase a skill? The highest that I've seen in the books is a +10. Is there anything stated in the rules that says that's the highest it can be?

Probably not. Any new magic items aside from those in the books are fundamentally house-rules, so it's up to the DM, anyway.

My memory says that any magic item worth more than 200,000 gp, or a skill bonus over +30, is an epic item. +30 to a skill would be 90,000 gp (I think), so that'd be the cap for non-epic. There should be no epic cap, but all epic items cost 10 times as much.

There should be no epic cap, but all epic items cost 10 times as much.
