Why do we have a vest slot but no pant or skirt slot?

I think they set it up like layers. You have an outer layer, armor or robe, and an underlayer, vest or shirt. Once again, you could make magic pants, but they are on the same layer or slot as the shirt.

I've always thought that ioun stones should be cheaper. Slotless items cost double - that's fair enough. But most of those, like a stone of good luck, can be stuck safely in a pocket, or a pouch, or whatever. Only ioun stones have the special vulnerability of floating around your head where they both attract attention and make nice little sunder targets.

Every person I have every played D&D with have avoided the Ioun stones like the plauge. Not that they would be any harder to sunder than an amulet of a ring even, it's just the thought of them floating around your head makes them seem so vulnerable.

I pronounce it 'oon' stones, but have heard 'ion' and 'oww-n'.
I pronouce it "i-oon", it's kinda like saying "I own" except you pronouce the "own" part more like you say "noon" and less like "stone".

I wonder why Wizards never included a "slots" section on the character sheet, so people were clear about what they had and where it was...

The D&D campaigns sheet actually does. The Mark of Heroes sheet is here. The last sheet has this.
