I'll tell ya folks what this contest is all about...

It's not about font size.

It's not about word count.

It's not about a "cool" cover letter.

It's not about staples over using a paper clip.

It's not about being a well known industry "professional"

It's not about rehashing the same old monsters and themes.

It's not about a pre-choosen theme.

It's not even about being a good or DM.

It's not about pure creativity, (believe it or not.)

It's about THE GAME. Capture the reader's attention...
Cut it to the core. And show what ya got....

Show yer stuff or SHUT UP!

Unfortunately "The Game" being looked for is a wholley derivative subset of a derivative genre. In the end its all about people who fight evil with swords and magic.

Doesn't mean I don't love it, just means that when you condense forgotten realms down it becomes: "Heroes fight evil with swords and magic." and if you bring Dragonlance down it becomes: "Heroes fight evil with swords and magic."

Greyhawk? "Heroes fight evil with swords and magic."

The basic setting they are looking for is "Heroes fight evil with swords and magic."

I'm gonna spice that up for them, don't get me wrong. But in the end, I think we all know that we're gonna get: "Heroes fight evil with swords and magic." because that's what the community wants to play.
