To answer my own question:

My friend Nico is in town (she's actually here visiting her boyfriend AIM 54, but when Nico visits, she and I always have a special date for just the two of us). Anyway!

She and I are heading into DC to have formal tea at The Jefferson Hotel. Fancy dresses, pretty purses, and scones baked while we wait! It's going to be an awesome afternoon!

Ok, that sounds cool. Not the dresses and purses thing! Nope. Not that at all.

Seriously sounds like a lot of fun. I never go anyplace fancy. They look at me funny in those places.

I'm a little freaked out that I'm going to do something wrong somehow and they're all going to laugh at me. Have to think back to my lessons in tea-time from my grandmother when I was like 5!

It is good to know that there are some things in life that you can count on. Queen D being a "fru-fru-girly-girl" is one of them.

I'm on the cusp of having me a full-on-batchelor-weekend while my wife and little girl go out of town to Virginia to visit some friends. I'll be playing computer games and watching copious amounts of television at all hours of the night while eating pizza and eating from the four basic meat groups. All of this while in my underwear (or just naked if the underwear seems like too much trouble).

It sounds likely that I'll be trying to hook up with Belen Umeria to see Serenity on Sunday. For that I may opt to wear pants.

Wow, I haven't had a weekend like that in a long time. Now that we've got four kids, my wife is more and more reluctant to go out of town with them and without me.

That's what's missing from my life! Once or twice a year bachelor weekends!

Anyway, we've got the opposite going on this weekend. My sister-in-law, her husband, and her three kids are coming up from Columbus. I'll be lucky if I can sleep in my underwear, much less veg in front of the TV.

For my part, my weekend won't be much different from my weekday. You see, I was placed "on the bench" this week. I work for the government, and anyone who works for the gov't (and maybe some that don't) knows that the fiscal year ends on the 30th of September. Well, They have yet to finalize their contract and there was no money for me in the temporary budget (since I'm the new guy), and until they get that squared away, I've been told to stay home. So, I'm getting a free vacation for a non-specific amount of time. And the great thing is, my consulting firm still pays me.

Life is good. Of course, I'm hoping I'll get to go back at some point... otherwise, things could get scary.

Oh, to answer the question. The National Folk Music Festival is in Richmond this weekend, and I'd really like to go. It sounds like fun. But today, I'm today, I'm taking a Cost Accounting Final, and I'll be really glad to be done with that class.

Let's see ... I'll probably spend most of today sending resumes and trying to find a job, followed by a good four hour freakout because I have no way to pay my rent. Might fit in a crying session with the wife too.

Saturday I think I'll lay in bed paralyzed by depression and worrying because my truck has a cracked block and isn't worth repairing, and my wife's car has no brakes. Followed by another four hour freakout and crying session as needed.

Or maybe I'll just suck it up and deal. :\

Well, tommorrow's the Homecoming game for UF, so that means tonight is Gator Growl. Pep Rally type thing with a couple comedians. This year they've got Wayne Brady and Greg Giraldo. About the only thing I'm doing this weekend is going to that, tonight...might go see Serenity again, too.
