Level Up (A5E) It's Here! It's Time To LEVEL UP Your 5E Game!

After nearly two years of waiting, the Level Up: Advanced 5E Kickstarter has finally launched! This standalone advanced 5E tabletop RPG which adds depth and diversity to the game you love!

Welcome to Level Up, a standalone game which enhances the 5E ruleset which you know and love. If you love 5E but would like a little more depth to the rules, Level Up is the new game for you!

After two years of extensive public playtests and surveys involving thousands of players, and input from our active community, we have completely overhauled the 5E game system. From redesigned classes to a full exploration pillar, we've revisited every aspect of the game to present this new standalone iteration of the 5th Edition core rules.
  • Core set. The core set consists of three books -- the Adventurer's Guide (characters, and the core rules), Trials & Treasure (magic items, exploration and journeys, and gamemastery), and the Monstrous Menagerie (monsters!)
  • A little more. For those who want more, there are two more books -- Adventures in ZEITGEIST (a world/setting book) and Mythological Figures & Maleficent Monsters (a book of legendary heroes and villains from our own world's myths and cultures).
  • These are modular enough so that if you just want the monsters, or our new class overhauls, or our exploration rules, you can buy a single book. It's all compatible with 5E and will work with your other 5E books!

Nearly 400% funded at this point, and the -significant- majority purchased either the Wizard or Archmage tiers for the core rulebooks.

I'd be super interested in finding out how many people added on the Zeitgeist PDFs...
I did not get the extras because I already have a homebrew campaign world and I don't have much desire to see writeups for monsters and NPCs that probably won't show in my campaign.

DO NOT ever look at any Kickstarter from CMON. You will never get out ....
Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone know if there is more recent data regarding kickstarter pledges per day during a project's time on kickstarter? I found some blogs with some handy charts showing the 'U' shape most kickstarters follow but it was posted back in 2011.

Still that way for just about every one.

1. Tons of people in the first few days that have been waiting for it to go live.

2. Tricking down to a low point about half way through. Kickstarter s with tons of stretch his can straighten this out a bit by getting people to pre-pledge for add-ons or shipping to hit a tasty goal (that you get free with the pledge) but to keep the momentum up you literally have to trickle out stretch goals every day of the campaign.

3. At the end you get a lot of people that have been on the fence about the cost/need finally jump on board. The more free extras the greater the gain (even if you planned on including them the whole time)!

4. Also at the end, conversely, you can see some decent amount of people jumping ship because of various reasons. This somewhat limits the upside at the end of the graph. For example I did a last minute cancellation of a fairly pricy Kickstarter because during the campaign my employment stability came into question. A second one I cancelled halfway through even though I had been waiting years because the graphic design change of the board was revealed, many hated it, and they said it wasn't going to be changed due to feedback.

Kickstarter can be a lot of fun, but if you do start to go down the road and you have completion it issues (like myself) it can be dangerous to the wallet.

I'm getting the Marshal bundle for the heck of it, and it includes the Zeitgeist setting. Might upgrade to Collector if I can justify shelf space. Or maybe Loremaster for the fancy core HCs, with PDF addons.

I am not a DM (yet), so I probably won't get Gears of Revolution as part of the kickstarter...certainly not until I've been through as a player! (Anybody planning to run it...? 😉 )

Hey Russ, as far as Enworld related projects, I know this one took a lot of time and effort, how does it compare to other projects as far as satisfaction that plenty of people are looking forward to it….or are all the projects like kids in that you love them all type thing?

seems like all the systems you guys create are all out top notch, cheers to another job well done!
