I play a cleric / elemental archon ... so that was one of the things that I discovered quite early with the 3.0 - 3.5 conversion :)
 

Elementalism

Hey my friend was right. This really is a cool thread for me.

I'm running an online D&D game based on elementalism, which is currently in the stage where the players are waiting for background info, and I'm trying to make the villains (busy!). The four players, and four prime antagonists, are based on the four elements. They get some powers unique to their position (house rules), but why I'm commenting here is because I also noticed the utter lack of elementalism. Luckily I own Oriental Adventures, and I've been looking through the shugenja and shaman spell lists, and converting a lot of spells. The players will get bonuses on their spells of a given element, and in this case I wanted to include a lot more spells. So, I'm making several spells count as 'elemental spells' for that purpose, without actually giving them an elemental descriptor.

Once the game starts, I'll talk about it in Story Hour. I'll post the link to the thread here when that happens.
 

There was a 2E book that gave the details for the elemental wizard class, although I can't remember the name of the book. It gave elemental classification for 2E spells.

Brekki: About the elemental archon class - the 8 rank Knowledge (nature) prereq is kind of screwy, seeing as how it's not a cleric class skill. I advocate changing it to 8 ranks Knowledge (the Planes) in 3.5, since it is now a cleric class skill and Knowledge (the Planes) is the skill you now use to identify elementals. How did you qualify?

you should look at the quintessential wizard by mongoose publishing. they have mage backgrounds for the 4 elemental types.

Ach! I keep hearing all these great things about Mongoose Publishing. But I can't afford any more books :(

It's like talking about food in front of a starving man...

Oh well. Obviously this is all good stuff people are offering so far. Maybe someday I'll be able to look at these books you good people mentioned. Until then, I have to stick with my own rules. Oh well.
 

For my Air genasi my DM added Electric, Sonic and Cold Resistance 5 to put them in line with the other EL+1 Plane touched.

Works great.

Have not had to add the bonues to Air saves yet as we run into few Druids that are not friendly.

Tome of Magic, perhaps?
 

Al-qadim also had elementally-themed wizards. And Spells & Magic had elementalists as well, but I think that was mostly a reprint of Tome of Magic's stuff, updated to include more spells.
