It's time WotC fill us in on their digital initiative

I think it is far too entertaining to see people just make up things to complain about. So, hopefully, Wizards will not reveal any true information for a while.
:]

I still think the official WotC response should be "Suck it."

Danzig,

Wizards wouldn't like my reply back though if that were to occur. I'm already unbalanced enough via laughter and 48+ of non-sleeping. ;)

Well, we have GenCon 40 coming up as the perfect place to make huge announcements. So, I'm thinking that we'll see some of the major stuff in August.

It's a real bad idea to announce features when you're not yet in beta testing. And I don't think they're even in production yet.
It's an even worse idea to yank a product off the shelves before the replacement is even at a stage where a preview or sample can be shown.

Yes, because decided not to renew a license the next time it comes up is TOTALLY yanking a product off the shelves.

The lesson here is apparently 'don't ever license anything out, ever' - if you care about geek-rage on the internet, anyway, which, to be fair, no sensible company would.

Anyway, they could have it DONE already; to suppose it's "not in beta" (who the HELL beta tests a WEB SITE? ) etc. is absurd, as is saying they're yanking a product. The product in question will run until September, partly because Wizards chose to negotiate a deal that lets Paizo finish off their adventure path.

Given WotC's management of the D&D site, their boards, their overpriced pdf's, and this entire magazine fiasco ... is there any reason why anyone should feel optimistic about their ability to handle this nebulous & new digital initiative?

Hell, they can't even fix a bloody search engine for their boards, but they're somehow going to "wow" us with some still undefined subscription based format?

No, there is not. WotC is like a dinosaur when it comes to online initiatives. They're way behind the times.
