Battle Angel is just the writer's guess. If you read further down you'll see that Cameron hasn't revealed what it will be yet.

Fantastic Four? Evangelion? Another Alien flick? But since he ultimately passed on Spider-Man due to it being someone else's property my guess is it will be something original.

He's been talking about doing a live action Battle Angel Alita for a while now (it's actually in pre production).

Here is a article from Moviehole from last April on it.

On Sunday, James Cameron told Fuji TV's Tokudane ("Exclusive News") that the script for his Battle Angel movie is currently being written. Cameron was in Japan to see a new camera for 3D filming.
It's a pretty good bet this will be it.

Intresting, I havnt seen the anime of Battle Angel in numerous years.

If memory serves it was decent, good animation,(for the time), and action, but a little short.

So we are looking at this movie being released in say 2 more years?

Battle Angel is a pretty cool Anime. But I guess, if you're an anime hater, it won't matter how good it is. :(

But, I remember it well because it was one of the very very few animation things I've watched where I got a lump in my throat during a certain story point. Those of you who have seen it know what I mean.

I mean, I never ever cry at movies ever. I never have in my entire life. But there are very rare times where I get a bit emotional. The lump in the throat that I mentioned earlier.

"Grave of the Fireflies" and "Battle Angel Alita" were two animes that gave me that. Now, if you see one of these and don't get at least a little emotionally stirred, then the problem (in my opinion) isn't the movie's fault. You just have issues with anime that go beyond anything I can say to change your mind.

Anyways, yah...its obvious Cameron was a big fan of "Battle Angel"....I mean, that's basically what "Dark Angel" was trying to go for. Unsuccessfully IMHO....

But I can't wait to see what he'll do next. Hope to hear more concrete announcements soon. Would'nt it have been cool if he was the one that did "Starship Troopers"? :)
