Not likely, I mean he has always worked for WotC. He just went from D&D to MtG back to D&DI wonder if James Wyatt moving back to D&D has anything to do with WotC being "promoted" within Hasbro.

Man I love the 4e lore. It was one of the things that brought me back to D&D. If he can do this for 5e, I would be happy. Not being a fan of either his work on 3e D&D (other than 3e Oriental Adventures and Heroes of Horror)* or most of the 4e lore,...
And the 4e lore was my favorite D&D lore ever. Everyone had their own preferences.Wyatt may have had good ideas for a "here's the basics" type campaign, but I hated his story ideas for 4e where a lot of things that made D&D it's unique complicated self story-wise, got thrown out in favour of points of light.
That's funny, it was the cosmology as described in Wizards Presents: Worlds and Monsters, which I picked up at the book store before 4th edition was released, that led me back to D&D after missing 3rd edition. The particular parts of the cosmology that I liked were the Shadowfell and Feywild, which I thought were brilliant, although I prefer the 5th edition cosmology because I like the way the Outer Planes -- the Abyss in particular -- and the Ethereal plane are handled in 5th edition more...and I missed the Positive and Negative Planes. However, the incorporation of the Material Echoes (which I understand had appeared in earlier editions, although less systematically) was brilliant. Also, I think the best part of the art in 4th edition was that of landscapes and realms.Man I love the 4e lore. It was one of the things that brought me back to D&D. I remember it, but I also think you are misremembering it. I think the actually conclusion from that discussion was different than what you remember. Of course, my memory could be faulty too!It was here. We discussed it. I think you were in the thread. Not going to dig it up. Pretty sure others will remember it too.
can you message me it after you learn it?Can someone PM me the about the Mike Mearls controversy to not derail the thread. I don't remember the details.

Absolutely the same! And the 4e lore was my favorite D&D lore ever. Everyone had their own preferences.
