[January] What are you reading?

Wow, I guess I'm an idiot. I missed ANY reference to Romeo and Juliet in the book! I can see why that would lead to you expect a different ending. Now I'm gonna have to reread...

I might be thinking of the wrong book. As soon as I wrote that I started to second guess myself. I read a few teen novels that had similar stories like this and none of them really stand out in my mind.

I'm in the final 200 pages of The Crippled God. I'm gonna miss this series (at least until the Anomander Rake trilogy arrives....)

Been reading Triplanetary by E. E. Smith on my tablet. It's okay. Not very far into it though but I don't think I'll read any of the other Lensman series. Not enjoying the writing style.

I've finished the Blackout/All Clear novels by Connie Willis this week. I found them a bit too long-winded and in places repetitve. I don't really see why the story couldn't have been condensed to fit into a single novel.

Now I started reading a German book for a change: "Die Stadt der Träumenden Bücher" by Walter Moers. I've never read anything from him before but the story starts quite promising indeed. It's also nicely illustrated by the author.

Finished Inquisitor Royal by Dave Sivers and moved on to Percepliquis by Michael J. Sullivan, the 6th book of the Riyria Revelations. They have been great! Oh, as an FYI, the book are now in omnibus verision:
  • Theft of Swords (11/2011) contains The Crown Conspiracy & Avempartha
  • Rise of Empire (12/2011) contains Nyphron Rising & The Emerald Storm
  • Heir of Novron (1/2012) contains Wintertide & Percepliquis
