Ah! That's why I asked about shutters earlier - like an ass I assumed that this took place in a bog-standard D&D setting (because of where you posted it). Glass windows (and thus, window panes) aren't a fixture of many D&D settings, as they're all more or less analogues to medieval Europe. Had I known that this was a modern setting (with window panes that could be blown open, rather than shutters), I would have had this solved a few posts back ;)

No, actually the riddles are set in modern Europe/USA, unless otherwise told. Nothing will be explained with "It's magic!". ;)

Does no one step up to the challenge?

2. Step on it!

If Ms. Smith didn't had such a racy driving style, then she would be dead by now. What happened?

Given that I have no idea where this one is going, I'll just ask a bunch of questions to try to see a few red herrings.

Is Ms. Smith of legal driving age? (Just curious.)
Does Ms. Smith drive in races?
Does Ms. Smith drive a standard consumer automobile?
Does Ms. Smith drive for a living?
Does the slightly imporoper grammar (didn't had as opposed to didn't have) important to the riddle? (Not trying to be a jerk, just wondering)

No worries. That is half of the fun!

Yes.

No.

Yes - it has 4 doors.

Her job is unimportant, but probably no.

There is an error? Where? ... In general, the grammar doesn't play a role for the solution.

Did this really stump your players for hours?
I find RuleMaster gave the aquarium away a bit too easily and obviously important. I'm embarrased to say though, I believe when I heard the riddle the first time, I gave it up. :o

Anyway, I believe I do not know the newest one:

  • To make sure, it is her typical driving style to speed, or at least drive dangerously?
  • She can react fast to avoid accidents; either because of her driving style, or she adopted her driving style because of her reactions?
  • Did her reactions allow her to outmaneuver, in whatever way, another vehicle?

This may be silly, but I'm going to guess that the answer is "nothing" as the first part of the riddle isn't a statement of action, thus the only possible answer to a question which asks the reader to explain action that hasn't taken place (as far as the riddle itself is concerned), is "nothing".

Could be. Anyway, I was one of the solvers and it was on a party, although I haven't drunk alcohol.

  • Yes.
  • I think, that reaction speed is overrated in normal traffic situations. But she didn't survive, because she avoided an accident while driving.
  • No. There was no race.

:D Nice try, but it is wrong. Really wrong. I haven't even seen a riddle yet, which had such an answer, so you can exclude this for every riddle I'm going to post. ;) Would be too boring.

Who said we are dealing with a normal traffic situation? ;)

To formulate it correctly:

Was this a traffic situation?
If so, was it a normal traffic situation?
