Russian jets cruise over Jericho, dropping containers of food from China. This sparks a debate over whether it is poisoned or not, which the townsfolk prove impatient to find out. Elsewhere, trouble breaks out involving Jonah

I was pretty (read: reasonably) happy with this episode - well, the first half, at least.

As usual - I don't give two craps about the townsfolk, but I am interested in the world around them. The supply drop (along with those included leaflets) was very cool.

Oh - and if that old bag who runs the store is dead, I'm going to stand up and cheer.

I don't follow this show at the moment (to many shows out there): Where did they get the idea that the food was poisoned? Specifically, why did they authors think that this was the way the people reacted?

After the 2nd World War, Germans had troubles trusting american or british care packages, but that was probably mostly fueled by the fact that they were sometimes labeled "gift", which, unfortunately is also a German word meaning "poison".
I doubt that this is a normal reaction of populations in need towards food containers. (I might be mistaken, though)

Actually, it was only Jake, his brother and his Father who thought it was poisoned, as a possible second wave of attacks after the bombings. Most of the other people in town didn't think it was poisoned.
