Jericho: Episode 5 Season 1

I swore I wasn't going to watch any more, but a woman I was going on a date with said she loves the show and I figured if I was up-to-date I'd have that to compare notes on.

Plusses: ICBMs, Jake's brother Eric and his wife getting back together (seemed very realistic)

Minuses: People interrupting Jake when he's about to say what he spent the last 5 years doing (it's like a joke now), firemen pulling books out of the library while Eric's house is on fire (good God), Jake having to do everything of importance still (ok, his brother got to do one thing).

Eric and his wife April, the houseowners, made the decision to let the house burn.

I might get flamed by historians, librarians, and educators here (as well as their literary advocates), but I'd rather let the library burn.

I'm not getting all the nit picking going on about this show...I find it entertaining and will continue to watch.

Last I heard it was doing well in the ratings, which I think is good.

They agreed to fight the fire at the library first. They established that they'd go to the house afterwards, but instead stayed and removed books.

I'm not nit-picking, I'm saying that it's bad overall with some good nits.

But I'm done posting in Jericho threads. I don't like it when folks repeatedly bang on shows I like, and don't want to be a hypocrite by doing the same. I honestly do hope you fans continue to enjoy it, just like I hope fans of lobster, which I loathe, continue to enoy it.

Okay, help me out here, gang. What does lobsters have to do with Jericho?

Guess I'm not done.

Some people like the taste of lobster. I think lobster tastes bad, and have no desire to eat a giant bug, either. Yet I do not think that people who like lobster are wrong, nor do I think they have bad taste. They just have different preferences than me.

So too with Jericho.

I'd be a real jerk to post in a lobster-lovers discussion forum about how nasty lobster is and repeatedly asking why they're ok with eating giant, disgusting bugs.

So too with Jericho.

If Jericho's not for you, then Jericho's not for you.
